Utah-Resident Freshman Academic Scholarship Program 2013-14

Awarding Begins in 2013
 

To be considered for a scholarship in 2013-2014, you must be fully admitted by March 1st! 

In order to be fully admitted you must do the following:

• Complete and submit an application for Admissions to Dixie State College
•  Pay the required admissions fee.
•  Have your high school send a copy of your current grade transcripts.
•  Have your high school or testing center send your most recent ACT or SAT scores.

Dixie State College awards Academic Scholarships based on High School GPA & ACT*  The formula is simple. Take your cumulative GPA multiplied by 10 and add your ACT score.
(Example: If you have a 3.8 GPA and a 27 ACT... 3.8 x 10 = 38 + 27 for a score of 65)
Now, match your score with the grid to see what your scholarship will be. Don't forget...you must be admitted!

Presidential	GPA/ACT Score of 68 & Above	Full Instate Tuition and Student Fees for 4 years
Chancellor	GPA/ACT Score of 65 & Above	Full Instate Tuition for 4 years
Trustee's	GPA/ACT Score of 61 to 64.99	$2,400 per year for 4 years
Dean's	GPA/ACT Score of 57 to 60.99	$1,500 per year for 4 years
Merit	GPA/ACT Score of 54 to 56.99	$1,000 for one year

*Students must submit an ACT or SAT score to be considered for a scholarship. Students are encouraged to take the ACT on one of 6 national testing days. DSC now offers the ACT Residual Test, for information, dates, cost and exclusions, please go to http://dixie.edu/testing/test_information.php.

The College Placement Test (CPT) is not an acceptable test for determining scholarship eligibility.   

Academic Scholarship Details

 

Presidential Academic Scholarship is the premier scholarship for outstanding academically oriented freshman students, graduating from a Utah high school in the current year.

• Value: Four year scholarship for full instate tuition & standard student fees (not to exceed eight semesters)
• Number Available: 25
• Selection Criteria: An index score of 68 or higher, awards go to highest index score and date of admission.
• Application Requirements: Complete the Application for Admissions (includes admission fee, transcripts and test scores) by March 1st  Deadline. The December ACT is the last score accepted for consideration.
• Academic Criteria: Complete 30 Dixie State College credit hours per academic year with a 3.5 GPA.

Chancellor Academic Scholarship is awarded to outstanding academic entering freshman students, graduating from a Utah high school in the current school year.

• Value: Four year scholarship for full instate tuition (not to exceed eight semesters)
• Selection Criteria: An index score of 65 or above.
• Application Requirements: Complete the Application for Admissions (including admission fee, transcripts and test scores) by the March 1st deadline.
• Academic Criteria: Complete 30 Dixie State College credit hours per academic year with a 3.5 GPA.

Trustees Academic Scholarship is awarded to academically eligible entering freshman students, graduating from a Utah high school in the current school year.

• Value: $9,600. Four Year Scholarship that pays $2,400 per year (not to exceed eight semesters)
• Selection Criteria: An index score of 61 or above.
• Application Requirements: Complete the Application for Admissions (including admissions fee, transcripts and test scores) by the March 1st deadline.
• Academic Criteria: Complete 30 Dixie State College credit hours per year with a 3.2 GPA.

Deans Academic Scholarship is awarded to academically eligible entering freshman students, graduating from a Utah high school in the current school year.

• Value: $6,000. Four Year Scholarship that pays $1,500 per year (not to exceed eight semesters)
• Selection Criteria: An Index score of 57 or above.
• Application Requirements: Complete the Application for Admissions (including admissions fee, transcripts and test scores) by the March 1st deadline.
• Academic Criteria: Complete 30 Dixie State College credit hours per year with a 3.2 GPA.

Merit Academic Scholarship is awarded to academically eligible entering freshman students, graduating from a Utah high school in the current year.

• Value: $1000 for one year. Non-renewable
• Selection Criteria: An index score of 54 or higher
• Application Requirements: Complete the Application for Admissions (including admissions fee, transcripts and test scores) by the March 1st Deadline.
• Academic Criteria: Complete 15 credit hours per semester.
